What is the (Fe)male gaze...to me?

Breaking boundaries of nudity in art, and looking at nudes through the female, as well as deconstructing the body in accordance to my own insecurities.
This series is a personal and intimate exploration of the nude — not as an object to be consumed, but as a layered, vulnerable, and subjective perspective. It breaks from traditional representations of nudity in art, which have often been shaped by a male gaze, and instead reframes the body through my own experience: a female lens marked by complexity, contradiction, and self-reflection. The nude is not idealised. It is fragmented, abstracted, sometimes raw — echoing the ways in which I’ve internalised insecurities and disassembled parts of myself over time. In ways, this taboo, raw exposure is somewhat comforting. It not only confronts the viewer about their won intimate perspectives about their body, but provides reassurance that the structure of the male gaze should not be the bar. This work doesn’t seek to resolve that tension, but rather to sit within it — to hold space for discomfort, beauty, distortion, and truth all at once. Through subject matter and form, I try to explore what it means to inhabit a body that is always in flux, always negotiating visibility and worth.
